Now, a considerable amount of enterprise organisations, especially in highly regulated industries, are still trying hard to successfully adopt the cloud. Given this collective effort, should there not be a more generic and industry-wide approach by now?! Something which all firms can follow? And then customise to their specific use case?

The Cloud Programme Roadmap is a generic roadmap for any enterprise cloud adoption programme. It outlines the milestones and key deliverables while incorporating the collective knowledge and the lessons learned from the past.

Most importantly, the Cloud Programme Roadmap evolves with its applications. Until it becomes just another industry standard pattern that others can take off the shelf and apply. Yes, the “plug and play” dream is very much still alive…

Unfortunately, we’re not aware of the existence of such a generic and industry-wide Cloud Programme Roadmap.

Well, let’s change that then! We believe that a Cloud Programme Roadmap can be created. For the benefit of the broader industry and to help others prevent repeating the mistakes from the past (and so we don’t have to see them again).

This article series provides the missing first iteration of the Cloud Programme Roadmap; a spark that hopefully ignites further industry-wide collaboration.

The Missing Cloud Programme Roadmap combines numerous years of witnessing countless incarnations of real-word cloud programmes fail. With only a tiny fraction of them on the right track. And hardly any ever fully succeeding.

In competitive industries, where lessons are sometimes re-learned behind closed doors, the aim of the roadmap is to also collectively learn from the mistake of each other.
